Review:

"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." We have heard this phrase most of our lives, a phrase that encompasses how to succeed. We all have had someone in our lives that we have fought for in one way or another. Would the person we are fighting to be with be willing to fight just as hard to be with us? What if family or another man is all that is standing in the way? What are your choices then? Lorie O'Clare has us looking at this a situation in her new book, Pursuit.

When all Pamela wants to do is escape her family and the man she is to marry but despises, she does what any woman would do: she runs. When her car breaks down, she reaches the end of her bid for freedom. Not only is her fiance' looking for her, but others are as well. Either she has gotten herself into a worse nightmare than what she ran from, or she has found the perfect sanctuary. However, she never dreamed she would be running straight into two gorgeous brothers that will one day prove to be her saving grace.

When twin brothers Gabe and Stone are told about an abandoned car, they agree to check it out. Gabe never expected to find anyone like Pamela. When he catches sight of her, something about her calls to him. He feels the need to claim victory and make her submit, to discover the reason for her panic and distrust. When they finally get her cornered near their cabin, the three change from werewolf to human. Her beauty stuns Gabe. However, he still needs to find out the reason she is running in the first place.

As these two gorgeous men start questioning her, Pamela feels that there is no way she can tell them the truth. Why would complete strangers believe her when her own family and pack didn't? Telling them that she is hiding from a werewolf she despises, one who abused her and forced her to do things, wasn't going to help matters. So she tells the simplified story. Gabe knows it's a lie from the beginning, that she is hiding other secrets. Pamela knows that eventually she will be turned over to their pack leader. However, will she be returned to Jordan Ricky, the werewolf who abused her, or will Gabe come to the rescue?

All Gabe needed to hear is that she was abused to bring out the wolf in him. No one abuses his mate. Can he protect her from the ties binding her to her old pack and family? As Gabe and Pamela give in to their overwhelming feeling for one another, will Pamela be strong enough to deal with bonds between the brothers?

Pursuit is one of those books that deal with the complications of family ties. What do you do when your family wants one thing and you want something else? Are you strong enough to fight for your dreams? On the other hand, do you just give in to the pressure of family? Are you a strong enough person to give up everything for another? These questions are asked of Gabe and Pamela and if you are like me, you will enjoy finding out those answers. A story of intense emotions and situations, this book was a pleasure to read. Pursuit captures you from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the end.
