Review:

Ever wondered if you have lived before? Maybe you have seen a picture of something from long ago that seems so familiar. Or perhaps visited a place for the first time and you seem to recall visiting before. Now, what if you could hold an object from your past life and be swept back to relive it once again? Would you? With the sixth book in this exciting reincarnation serial, Walters continues the story of Astrid who upon returning home to fill in for her ailing father at his store, Antiquities, has been swept into a world of mystery and intrigue. Certain items she touches at the store lead her to 'fall back' into what appear to be past incarnations--where time after time a chance to obtain the love of a lifetime appears only to lead to disaster.

As the love affair with Duncan begins to ignite, pieces of the mysterious memories/trips to the past seem to be falling into place with familiar faces from the present making appearances. This time a damaged cross leads her on a trip to Switzerland where she was once Esther, destined to be wed to one she despises, and longing for her childhood love, Berwin. Danger is everywhere for these two as they fight to be together, and again it seems time will not be on their side. Back in the present day, to Astrid's dismay, the sense of danger seems to be growing as well. Will Astrid's mystery ever be solved . . . only 'time' will tell!

Janet Lane Walters once again gets it right! The right blend of romance and danger, of mystery and details revealed, make for a fascinating story. The glimpses of 'memory' are so detailed and colorful that you will be quickly swept into the past right along with Astrid. The love affair between Astrid and Duncan has really begun to sizzle and is enchanting to behold! My only complaint with this series is the waiting between installments . . . but then I have never been a patient person when it comes to getting things I crave! This series proves the old adage: good things come to those who wait! Next installment please . . . and please hurry!
