Katie Franklin was desperately unhappy in her marriage. Her husband, Rick, had long since lost the lust or feeling he had toward her. The love that was once there had been replaced with cruel, biting remarks. She was miserable, love starved and dying inside. So when she and her best friend, Irene, went out to a bar called Searchers and Joey came up to her, mildly interested, she jumped at the chance to have something more than nothing.
Joey was a loving; patient and caring lover who made her feel wanted, needed and alive again. They began a relationship on the side with benefits to both: sex, friendship and love.
Rick couldn't seem to understand what was wrong with his wife. She didn't want to be touched. They never talked. She basically avoided him like the plague. He knew that something had gone wrong in their marriage but didn't know what. But he loved his wife no matter what she thought, so he was going to make sure they at least tried to work it out - whatever "it" was.
Katie had to make a choice - her lover or her husband?
Searchers wasn't what I had expected. I'm not sure what I expected but I got more than I bargained for. Instead of just a wild fling, it showed what non-communication can do to a relationship and what pushes a person into another's arms. Instead of finding a home wrecker, we found Joey who only wanted to love and cherish Katie. Instead of a true adulteress we saw Katie for what she really was: a hurt, lonely and neglected wife. Rick wasn't the jerk I first thought him to be either. Instead, he was a clueless man who finally caught on and honestly wanted to make the commitment to try to change. All this plus the hot, wet, steamy sex! The foreplay, the light bondage and the steaminess all created the need for a roaring fan because it got hot during the day and night in Searchers.
Searchers blended a little kinky and a whole lot of burn to create some scorching flames. Ms. St. Claire truly made a phenomenal entrance into the erotic romance genre. Welcome and we hope this is your first of many!
