Review:

Julienne Hunter never expected to return to the home she had lived in as a child-never thought she'd again meet the family that had driven her and her mother away. Once a successful fashion model, Julienne had survived cocaine addiction, a ferocious attack by her then-husband, and months of rehab and divorce only to find herself broke with no place to call home.

Forced to rely on her estranged family for assistance, Julienne knew she could never trust Morgan Saint-Evanston. Her mother had hated him for some unknown reason and at first she had shared those feelings. But over time her desire for Morgan grew to an unbearable level, and her need to know more about him put her heart in danger of being stolen by this mysterious, untouchable man.

After one long night of excessive alcohol and shared secrets, Julienne learned that there was more to Morgan than she had previously known. The matters that troubled him were not of this world. Longing to save him she discovered she would have to learn the art of witchcraft if she had any hope of doing so. But did she care for him enough to risk her own life to the dark powers he fought?

Morgan Saint-Evanston had never forgotten Julienne's mother, or Julienne. He was uneasy around her and hoped that her stay would be brief and uneventful so he could get on with his travel plans. Had it not been for her grandmother, he would never have allowed her into the house and he wanted to make sure she knew that.

After seeing the strength the girl possessed in the face of her personal disasters, Morgan could not help but be intrigued by her. Not a man to be taken lightly, her constant defense against him had begun to excite him, to make him want her in a way he had never known before.

But no matter the level of his passion, he knew they could not be lovers. He had to kill her before he left and it was best not to become intimate with your targets. But how would he ever keep her away?

With ECHOES OF ANGELS, Caitlyn McKenna has written a delightfully engaging story laced with passion and secrets. The hint of magic and mysticism pervades this novel while allowing the reader to become lost in the sexual and emotional tension between Julienne and Morgan.

Julienne is a wonderfully strong character who is nothing but woman. Morgan is the kind of man we all hope to meet, refined and mysterious with enough passion to make a girl's heart melt.

Thank you Ms. McKenna for writing a story that truly is a pleasure to read.
