Review:

Kate McKay was raising two little girls and had to be both mother and father to them, which was trying at times. Enter Chris Shields who loved children with all his heart. There was nothing he loved more than children. He gave piggyback rides to at least a dozen nieces and nephews, and he hugged and kissed them on a regular basis. Chris had never really given Kate a second thought in high school because he had been obsessed with Maureen, but now was a different story. Now the only woman he saw was Kate. After feeling dead inside for such a long time, Kate made him feel alive again.

When Chris helped Kate out at a volunteer event, he decided to take the plunge and ask her out. Of course, she wasn't the one he really had to impress. Instead it was the two little darlings-Molly and Megan. They wanted a father as much as he wanted children. So the time they all spent together was extra beneficial and special. Forces conspired to keep them apart though. Would Scott, Kate's ex-husband, get custody of the children? Would Maureen with her five children lure Chris back to her? Would Chris's inability to get a woman pregnant ruin everything they had built?

Crazy for Kate was a delicious read. It wasn't just about the attraction between Chris and Kate. It was also how the two characters dealt with the obstacles life threw them and how they came out in the end. Their faith in God helped them through as much as their will and hearts of gold. The book even bordered on a type of inspirational. Ms. McDonough crafted a glorious tale of love, cherishment, confusion, hope, loss and the strength of faith. It was moving in a way that made me cry till the very end. Bravo!
