Susan Baer was an extremely successful businesswoman, owning a chain of women's health clubs called Baer Hugs. But she hadn't always been that way. Growing up, Susan had been overweight, with frizzy hair and braces. The popular kids had even given her her own cruel nickname: Grizzly Baer. While the play on her last name might have been somewhat clever, emotionally Susan felt beaten down. So it was no wonder that even though she had grown up, and matured into quite a beautiful woman, she had very little self-esteem and always seemed to be attracted to the wrong kind of man for her: men who didn't understand her, and certainly didn't appreciate the woman she had become.
But it seemed that her new administrative assistant, Duncan, did. Too bad he was gay.
Duncan Morrison had to be the most devastatingly gorgeous man Susan had ever laid eyes on. What she didn't know, however, was that Duncan was a private investigator working undercover trying to locate someone. He believed he had found his client's sister working at Baer Hugs as a masseuse. In order for him to find out for sure, he had to get inside the club. Being hired as the new administrative assistant was the perfect cover. He had to let Susan believe he was gay in order to get the job. Duncan didn't think it would be that difficult. What he hadn't counted on was being so attracted to his new boss.
When Susan found herself in an awkward situation, thanks to the man she was dating--the same one who in high school had coined her nickname--Duncan came charging to the rescue. She had known she was attracted to him, but when had she managed to fall in love with him? As far as she knew, Duncan was gay. There wasn't a chance he'd ever feel the same way about her, Susan thought. After they ended up in bed together one night, and had the most electrifying and satisfying sex either one of them had ever had, all Duncan wanted to do was finish his case so he could tell Susan the truth. How would she react when she found out that she hadn't "changed" him? How could she when he'd never been gay to begin with? Duncan just hoped that loving her to distraction would be enough.
BAER AND THE THREE GOLDILOCKS was beyond wonderful! The antics of the "three goldilocks" in Susan's life made me laugh out loud! Ms. Knight created a trio of truly enchanting men for her heroine to discover herself through. With each page I read, I found myself trying to anticipate what would happen next!
BAER AND THE THREE GOLDILOCKS was truly one of the most enjoyable stories I've read! It's not very long, so it's perfect for a quiet night at home! Dee S. Knight is a fabulous storyteller! I can't wait to see more from her!
