Book 1 of the Lair of the Wolves
When I stepped into the steamy, paranormal world of the Lycan, I was wandering the streets of Barcelona Spain right behind the beautiful and "INNOCENT" Catalin Bengoa. Unlike other Were-tales, Madison Foxe's take on the Lycanthropic culture is sophisticated. Her characters are rich in color with a mix of intelligence, strength and edge that kept me entertained through this fast-paced, non-stop, short-story extraordinaire.
From the moment Catalin entered the gallery of the gorgeous, sexy, Alpha Wolf artist, Francisco 'Cisco' Marquez, I felt the immediate sparks between these two dazzling characters. She is searching for answers to the disappearance of her father and the malady that consumed him, based on an old journal. It is Cisco's sense of Catalin's feral soul evolving its way to the surface that immediately links him to the INNOCENT "wolfette". His experience and protective instincts surface at the same time her hormones begin to run rampant, her mind confused by things she does not understand--the change of human to wolf--merciless. When the English "hound" Edward Kensington enters the story at the infamous "La Guarida de los Lobos"--The Lair of the Wolves--a Gothic Quarter nightclub, the plot takes an unexpected twist and does not let up.
This is a first in the series The Lair of the Wolves, by Madison Foxe, and with this as her flagship into the Lycan realm, I, for one, am on the voyage for the duration. I highly recommend this read and hope Ms. Foxe takes us from novella to novel in the near future using this series as its soul.
