Jodi Lynn Copeland has got me hooked. Her "quickie" book, Sweet As Sin, was indeed as good as its title. It's a short book, or a novella, at forty-four pages, so it's perfect when you've a free hour that you don't know how to fill. This will leave you licking your lips and looking for more of Ms. Copeland's work.

Emily Sorenson has less than two days before her alter ego, Tammy Getsaround, takes over her body and makes her a slut forever. For the past two weeks, Emily has blacked out around nine o'clock at night, and when she comes back, she wakes up in strange beds, with strange men, wearing only her birthday suit. And at midnight on her twenty-seventh birthday, she will never again be Emily. Tammy will get control of her body, permanently. Cursed since before she was born, there is nothing she can do to stop it.

Dade Foundree has never been able to say no to Grandma Joy. He drops everything and returns to the town that never gave him the respect they gave a cockroach. Grandma Joy was one shining spot in his life. Grandma and Emily. The last time he saw the sweet little blonde girl from next door, she had been just coming into womanhood.

He gets the shock of his life when he sees Emily in her kitchen, duct taped in a chair and drugged. Thinking the worst, he frees her and gets her to the hospital. Half way there, Tammy takes over Emily's body and she tries to jump him.

It reminded me strongly of Snow White, only instead of the Wicked Queen and Snow White being two people, they are in one body and fighting fiercely for control of it. You get a taste of the passion of Ms. Copeland's work with this story, like dipping your toes in the sea while standing on the shore.

While not a full feast, this book is definitely worth the status of an afternoon snack while you wait the long hours until dinnertime. And if this novella is any indication, Ms. Copeland is a master chef well on her way to stardom.
