Fiona Kelly was many things-small business owner, herbalist, astrologer, newspaper advice columnist-but she was mainly a woman who wanted to help the universe any way she could. That was why she began doing the column in the first place. But she also believed that though the stars might guide you, it ultimately was your choice to follow their lead or not. It was just too bad that she couldn't have been a fortuneteller as well; she might have been more prepared for where those stars were leading her! Just when Fiona was beginning to think that her universe was in perfect alignment, chaos crept in. She had an obsessed fan stalking her, and now an obnoxious radio DJ, Ghost Rider, was attacking her on his radio program every chance he got! What had she ever done to him?
Cal Turner was everything Fiona didn't want in a man. An Aries. That should have summed it all up. It was really a pity her heart and her body didn't always listen to her head. Cal had been engaged once to a woman he thought was his ideal. Then she left him at the alter, all because of advice she got from some kooky newspaper column called "Fiona's Fancy." If it hadn't been for his pride taking such a devastating blow, he might have been able to let it go. As it was, he couldn't stop now until he had destroyed Fiona and all she had worked for. Then, and only then, would his revenge be complete. He wasn't prepared for his reaction when he finally met Fiona. Nothing could have prepared him for falling in love with her.
When Fiona found out that Cal was the infamous Ghost Rider, she was devastated. Betrayed and humiliated, she was determined not to have anything to do with him ever again. But when Cal found out that her stalker had taken the next dangerous step-cornering her in her own greenhouse-Cal took matters into his own hands. He was not about to lose her again. He just couldn't allow that to happen. Fiona was his destiny.
Fiona's Fancy was pure cosmic genius! Seldom have I read something that could engross my imagination so thoroughly! It was a refreshing journey from the stereotypical romance as well-a large portion of this novel came from Cal's point of view. The chemistry that crackled between Cal and Fiona was so strong; you could feel the emotions burning off the pages! And for a modern day man to be so engagingly depicted as a knight in shining armor was delightful!
Fiona's Fancy is a must read for anyone who believes that love conquers all. If the universe truly controls your destiny, then Suzanne Marie Calvin's stars are all in perfect alignment with this story! I can't wait to read more from her!
