Review:

Max Devlin was part of the Devlin Pack. But the pack was breaking up and going global. Assigned by his parents, the pack leaders, Max's little corner of the world was New Orleans. His assignment was to find packs already established in the area, take over, find a mate and start a new business. Thirty-years-old and searching for his life-mate, Max had fallen for Shannon's picture. No person he'd actually known and dated had interested him half so much as a mere photo of Shannon Storm. Not to mention, she was the PR head to the hotel chain he would be working with in New Orleans. He intended to find out if she lived up to the promise of her picture. And in fact Shannon Storm was magic. Not just the incredible sexual chemistry she shared with Max--she was actually magic. She had a connection with the weather--so to scare him off at their first meeting, the window blew open and gale force winds churned through the room. She was disappointed that it hadn't scared him off. But then she didn't know he had magic of his own. Werewolves don't scare easily, not even werewolves who look great in a tux.

Most of the book is a battle between Max and Shannon. He wants her and she wants him. But she won't have anything to do with him. She's not a woman to be dominated. She's alpha herself. So that Alpha male wolf (who needs and wants an alpha female) has a bit of a battle with her. Not to mention a PR campaign to run, some wolves to conquer, and a new life to start. It's not enough being a werewolf for Max, now that he's hoping to make this magic weather woman his mate. The whole Storm family has power.

There are definite erotic elements to this book. There's a dream sequence that just might burn off the page; not to mention the balcony scene, and . . . well, let's just say, these two really make sparks. This is Jaci Burton's second book in the Devlin Dynasty series, and I counted at least two more sexy alpha Devlin brothers plus a sister who's a werewolf and a lawyer to marry off (and that's not even counting the Storms), so there are going to be werewolf stories a-plenty. Interestingly, this book merges with the Ms. Burton's Storm For All Seasons series so there are bound to be more weather-wolf combinations in the works. Definitely vivid characters fully realized. Hot stuff.
