Imagine the ultimate dinner party: Only all the "A" listers are dragons, lions who teleport across universes (yes, that is plural), and creatures that are very adoring and the size of small mountains. The ultimate party crashers would be the annoying and dangerous leprechauns who keep mooning your guest and ...Well, you get the drift. Throw in some murder, mystery, mayhem and too many species of intelligence to count, and you've got a rollicking good time on your hands.

The scope of the story for Book IV: Beyond the Eyes of Light is cosmic on far more than galactic scale. This time, it also deals with other dimensions and, if that's not wild enough, along comes magic.

The story starts off simple: a bizarre court scene in of all places, Oakland, California. What happens there is enough to change the line of time, cause a rift between dimensions, and move entire worlds where they were never supposed to be. Oh, and it was a brilliant child that cause this inappropriate experiment.

There is humor there for those who look beyond the usual slapstick and see irony. There are mysteries with murder, fart blowing gnomes messing up alien homes, aliens made of crystals, and humans that know how to shift from one form to another. Oh, and this is all at a school. It makes Harry Potter look positively tame.

If you are not a fan of mixed genre, do not be afraid of this one, because it actually uses science to try and explain some of their magic. Then, of course, there is the one humor thread through all the books is this: no matter how advance the species, no one but no one can ever escape bureaucracy. This book is a kick to read and Geoff Geauterre might just become your new best author friend. Check out Book IV: Beyond the Eyes of Light, the whole series, and spread the word. Reading is fun again.
