I've had the impulse to write a novel since I was about nine. When I was in high school I started to write my first romance but never got past the first couple of pages. I just didn't have the discipline or self confidence to sit down and write for a long time until being in the relationship with the man I'm with now. He's really boosted my self-esteem and confidence in my abilities. Unfortunately he'd gotten injured and was laid up for a week. I took care of him and started writing while he was sleeping. The story was called "No Truer Heart" and was a sweet romance. No sex at all! Besides that, it just wasn't publishable. I needed much more work on my craft. But I plugged away, reading romance novels and writing, writing , writing. Submitting and submitting. Getting rejected and rejected. I wrote short stories and novels mostly of the "literary" genre. I looked for an agent too. I wans't getting anywhere.
Then, one day a couple of years later (when Mitch was all better) we were at the pool and a lady there asked me what I was writing because she always saw me scribbling in my notebook when I was at the pool. She then proceeded to tell me about her sister in law who supported herself and her husband for two years by writing romantic stories for True Confessions, or a magazine like that. When I told Mitch about it, he said, "you should be writing stuff like that. After all, that's what you know about." I agreed and that night I pulled out that first romance I mentioned, spiced it up, renamed it The Maiden's Voyage and found eXtasy Books on the Internet. I submitted there, they accepted it (I was soooo excited!!) and I went on from there. I had no idea what e-books were. All I knew is that here was a publisher looking for the kind of stuff I write. It worked.
Since then, I've been published at all the places you see here on my list. I've written in many sub-genres, vampire, werewolf, menage a trois, m/m, historical, contemporary, fantasy - and combinations of those. I love writing erotic romance and really feel fortunate to have found my niche in the publishing world.
