As some of you may know I recently saw the fulfillment of a long-aspired dream come true: a contract offer with a traditional NY publisher. (BTW, not just one but two contracts!) For those who didn't know -talk about being THRILLED. Man, I was weeping for a solid week, and to say the least even after signing the contracts I live in constant paranoid fear that the gods of fate will suddenly, cruelly just snatch my good fortune from me. It's stupid, I know; but I felt the same way for weeks before my husband and I were wed.
Now that I'm working to tweak the manuscripts to my new publisher's pleasing, I find myself spending a heck of a lot less time online. Not that I really miss it; essentially, I'm either too lazy or just too shy to really do a lot of promotion, which goes hand-in-hand with e-books. But I do still try to keep up-to-date with what's going on with my E-publishers and stay in touch with those friends I've made over the years. There are a couple of blogs I still read regularly, and once in awhile pop over to read familiar writers' forums. Generally, however, my old friends don't hear much from me these days. It doesn't mean I don't care; it's just that I'm working.
And on this note, until I have a little more time I'm thinking of you, and ask that you've not forgotten me entirely :) Novelspot is one of my favorite forums and I will never forget the kindness and encouragement I've found here.
Hugs,
Desiree
