I sent out queries. The following fall, I heard back from my awesome editor at Cerridwen Press, who wanted to read the complete manuscript. She said she would get back to me in three weeks. Instead, she sent an acceptance in days. She caught a couple of funny errors I created in the cut and paste process. At one point, I’d written, “Angela had never driven a pickup truck before.” The margin note from my editor read something like this: “Yes she did. Thirty pages ago.” D’oh! I must have skimmed past that one while switching my baby from one breast to the other.
