Review:

I can't tell you how many times I've been lectured on the difference between druid and witch. This isn't to say I don't know the difference, but that everyone has their own interpretation of what is druid and which is witch. Mandy Roth's version of the differences is explained in her Sacred Places, delightful read that once again burns with her signature style.

Truth be told, I like her explanation a whole lot better.

Coyle O'Caha has been around for over half a millennia. He's seen a lot in his time, and he's had a lot of women in his time. But the one he knows is meant for him, he can't convince that she needs him. As a druid warrior, sure he could put a spell on her, but that's equal to rape, and he won't do it. So he's waiting it out, waiting for her to figure out on her own that he, and only he, is the man for her.

And he's quickly running out of patience.

Deri Sullivan has worked for Coyle for the better part of three years. Thirty-six months. One thousand ninety-five days… and she's thought of as many positions for her and Coyle to try out. But, she's a witch, and she can't sleep with her boss. Good girls don't sleep with their boss. Good girls don't cheat on their boyfriends with their boss, even if said boyfriend is cheating on her.

Good thing for them, Deri isn't a good girl. She's a witch.

Witches, druids, and magic make for a fun read that I consumed in one sitting. As usual, Ms. Roth has written a story that made me laugh and made me smile. Fairy tale love stories aren't just for little girls anymore.
