Well, it’s that time of year and Ellora’s Cave has presented their new line up of “Christmas Quickies”. This year’s theme is Wild Winter and they are certainly wild. As always the “quickies” are just that: quick, easy reads with something for everyone. Both new authors and some of the old favorites will be adding to this year’s line up. Since Titania Ladley is one of my favorite authors, of course I had to get her contribution Naughty & Spice.

After spending two years in prison for a crime she didn’t commit, Ginger Blair was ready to start over. She returns to her old hometown of Wayward, where she rents a house from her aunt. But having the local sheriff’s department show up at her front door was not part of her plan for a new life. The smallest violation would revoke her parole, a violation of a Wayward town ordinance.

This rush order from her little Internet business Naughty & Spice would provide all the evidence that Deputy Stuart Nixon needed to have Ginger back in the slammer. Everything was on display in her kitchen: all of the vibrators that Ginger had been dipping in chocolate, all the packing materials and dry ice. Ginger had to come up with a plan to distract the deputy and fast. Even if that distraction meant giving the deputy a demonstration of the proper use of a chocolate covered vibrator.

The violation that his grandfather, the mayor of Wayward, was forcing Stuart to investigate was the perfect excuse for him to get close to Ginger. Ginger had been the object of Stuart’s high school crush, and neither of them was in high school anymore. So when Ginger begins her private demonstration Stuart thinks he has walked into heaven. He is more than ready for some private lessons and has more than a few lessons that he wants to teach Ginger.

From there everything takes a wrong turn, Stuart finds out about Ginger’s past. When Ginger winds up in jail, Ginger’s aunt raids the vibrator stash for her private meeting with Stuart’s grandfather. Will everything work out? Or will Ginger wind up in prison again? Will Ginger’s aunt be sitting in the cell next to her? Is there any hope for a relationship for Stuart and Ginger?

Naughty & Spice is one of those quick easy reads that make you chuckle until the very end. Thoroughly enjoyable! As always, a Titania Ladley book is worth the time and money spent. I’ll be buying her next book.
