Having read previous tales by NJ Walters, when I began reading her latest offering, Unmasking Kelly, I knew I was not going to be disappointed - nor was I. Unmasking Kelly is a great sensual read, perfect if you have not much time to spare but a joy to read in any case. If you have ever wanted a friend or acquaintance in the carnal sense – for one night or for forever – then this one is for you. Unmasking Kelly is a sensual romance that will catch your attention, hold it, and leave you desiring more.

Kelly Allen is happy with her life. She has a job she loves, many great friends and is mostly happy with herself, if a little insecure over her size sixteen figure. A waitress at Brannigan's Pub, she wouldn't want to change careers even if she had the wherewithal to do so – and not only because she is half in love with her boss, Liam Brannigan. She loves the atmosphere, the customers, and most of all she loves her work. Yet, this Halloween she has a plan. Under the cover of the masquerade ball, she is going to seduce Liam. Asking for the night off is difficult, as is donning her saloon woman costume and stepping through the pub's doors. Nervous but determined, she is unprepared for the male response to her buxom figure, but only one man's response is important to her. Liam's hot gaze sears her, and her dream of a night of passion in his arms seems like it is going to at long last come true. Will their interlude be all that Kelly hopes? Can their passion extend beyond the night?

Liam Brannigan noticed her from the first moment she stepped through the door, and was quick to pronounce his claim on the mystery woman who was attracting so much male attention, including his. Time seems to pass slowly until he closes the pub, knowing the passion that awaits them when they will finally get the pub to themselves. Liam is envisioning a night of hot, raw sex between the sheets, but will his mystery woman remain for the whole night or dash out the door before his desires can be quenched? Is theirs a passion that could develop into more than a one-night stand, or will the heat between them die down before the night is out? Does Liam find out just who his ardent mystery lover is?

Unmasking Kelly is a great quick read that demonstrates Walters' ability to concoct a tale that is both sensual and engaging. This short story spans only a few hours at most, yet the character development is very good for such a short time span, and the author even manages to tell the tale from both characters' point of view. The chemistry between the characters is electric, and the sex is described in modern graphic detail. I love the many uses the pool table is put to! I think the characters are great, as is the setting. I wouldn't change a thing about his tale, except perhaps wishing it was longer. If you love a contemporary erotic romance, or if you have ever wanted a boss, colleague or friend, then be sure to snap up NJ Walters' Unmasking Kelly.
