Review:

Amy O’Connor demonstrates in this novel a most superb ability to write erotica that grips the reader and has them responding carnally to the written word. This tale contains a scene that is definitely a first for me. Sure, I’ve read ménages before – but three guys to one woman? Not yet, though I have my eye on a few. Whew, this novel is hot and a must for any erotica (and ménage tale) fans. I can assure you, Moon Illusion is one tale that will not leave you unaffected.

Gina is a fairly conservative woman, rather insecure and not hot or sexy by anyone’s standards. She certainly doesn’t think herself sexually responsive or attractive, and most definitely not to the extent to be able to attract a man like Nate Moore. He has got to be one of the most gorgeous men she has ever seen – with a strong reputation as a womanizer. One night with him would surely not leave her unsatisfied. Somewhat knocked for a loop when he comes on to her, she is nevertheless ecstatic, and determined to experience all the pleasure she can at his hands. Their night together is beyond anything she has ever dreamed possible and strongly boosts her self-confidence and esteem, but will Nate want more than one night? Will she live long enough for there to even be a possibility of another night? After all, the ‘accidents’ she is having are multiplying – and increasing in danger. Someone wants her dead – and soon. Greed is a powerful motivator. Her half of the trust fund she is to inherit in days is certainly something someone would kill her for, but whom? Can Nate keep her safe? Will the pair experience any more out-of-this-world bliss?

Nate Moore is a carefree man whose nature is to be very sexually active. He has never even given thought to settling down. It seems, however, that fate has different plans in mind for him. When he goes to do an inspection of Gina’s rental house and meets her for the first time, his reaction to her is unlike any he has ever had to another woman. Though she has just been in a car accident and is dripping wet, she still makes his body respond in ways that it hasn’t for a long time. The next day, he asks her to allow him to cook her dinner. Following dinner the next night is the best sex of his life, though he recognizes almost immediately that more than sex was involved. In turmoil over what to do next, his mind is quickly made up when he finds Gina almost lifeless. The wolf is awakened in him. She is his! No one will hurt her! But can he keep her safe from those who would harm her? Can he convince her he loves her after only days of knowing her? How will he break the news that he is not an ordinary realtor – he’s a werewolf?

The numerous sexual encounters in this novel are explicit and described in detail; each varies in some way from the others. The sex between Nate and Gina is scorching – but the sex between Gina, Nate and two of his brothers is even hotter. There is no doubting that Gina enjoys the experience, though she is somewhat stunned by how sexually responsive and adventurous she is with them. Make no mistake, the men are in control of the sex at all times; there is very little give and take. This might turn some of you off, but for the rest of you who like your tales raunchy in the extreme will find, in addition to ménage a quartet, anal and oral sex, plus some mild bondage. This is a fairly lengthy tale, which has much more going for it than just its sex scenes. There is an underlying tension, more visible at some points of the story than others.

Someone wants Gina dead; it is up to Nate to save her. All the characters are fairly well developed; I would love for Ms O’Connor to write Nate’s brothers' stories, especially if they are of the high caliber of this tale. A fabulous piece of erotica, if this genre is your forte, particularly the paranormal shape shifting sphere, then you need to get your hands on Moon Illusion – pronto!
