To paraphrase part of the initial blurb of this book, "Be careful what you wish for." It is a sentiment repeated by her captor. But I get ahead of myself...

Fired from her job, Asia Drake goes home, masturbates to her bondage toys and photograph collection, contemplates "selling herself" to a new employer, and toys with the thought of being a kept woman rather than a hard nosed businesswoman. She has no idea that such thoughts and wishes are dangerous enough to get her swooped across dimensions to Surrender Island.

But that is indeed what happens. She finds herself running from a macho type, who captures her, ropes her up and proceeds to explain her predicament. And what is her predicament? She's in some non-earth place called Surrender Island--which knows her hidden-most desires--and she's about to commence training how to be a sex slave, in preparation for her eventual auction and sale.

So this is a fantasy, experienced within Asia's mind, directed by the trainer Zemar, controlled by his "toys" in her stone prison set in an inescapable jungle. There are no safe words here, just his irrevocable will to train her. And yet, is there something compelling him? What lies deeper than appearances? Asia is not one to blindly accept without answers, or to blindly submit to feeling without emotion.

Surrender's Dance is literally a dance between domination and submission, between compliance and resistance, passion and compassion, denial and fulfillment.

And yet--what of the connection between trainer and slave? What can happen?

Not as in depth or deeply psychological as Ice Queen, but Vonna Harper again paints a lively canvas of fantasy BDSM.
