Review:

After reading other books Charlotte Boyett-Compo has written, like the WindLegends Saga, I was looking forward to this new series. With the WindWorld series she shows her readers what she is capable of as a writer.

When Lord Riel Evann-Sin has a run in with the Daughters of the Night, he thought he could handle it--for the simple reason as the Lord High Commander of the Akkadian Forces everyone fears him, or so he thought. However these women have no fear of anything or anyone. When the leader of one the Daughters of the Night groups retaliates against Evann-Sin after he scornfully dismisses her, he will soon learn first hand about fear and revenge. But one of these warrior women is different, so different that he knows from first sight that they belong together. Tamara Naibril is a Daughter of the Night, but unlike the others she has her own way of delivering justice.

After she helps Evann-Sin avoid a confrontation with her group leader, she feels a connection to Evann-Sin. However that connection and sense of justice will have the other Hell Hags--as they are also called--fighting against her instead of with her. Tamara defends her tie and Evann-Sin's honor against her Sisters of the Night. When Tamara and Evann-Sin get together sparks fly. That is when The Magi decide that in order to save the world as they know it, they must use Evann-Sin, Tamara, Evann's friend Rabin and the Demon Kai to form an alliance. Could this fight for life be the end or the beginning of new things to come? Kingdoms are lost, kingdoms saved, souls that were believed to be lost are saved and true love reunited.

Charlotte Boyett-Compo has written a dark and intense romance with Longing's Levant. This book has a creative plot and great multiple storylines. There are supporting characters which she adds in gradually so as not to overwhelm the reader. However be advised that Longing's Levant contains graphic sexual content, including a rape scene. I had to put this book down a couple of times, but the creative and intriguing plot kept me coming back for more.
