Carolina

Carolina Valdez has been making up stories since she was eight years old. Writing freelance, she’d sold over sixty articles and stories and won national awards before the publication of her first novel, Cry of the Bells , an historical romantic suspense written under the name Dee Ann Palmer. Her story Marathon Madness was selected for LAndmarked for Murder, the 2006 crime anthology produced by Sisters in Crime/Los Angeles. She writes under this name in this genre.

Today her Carolina Valdez romances, which often cross genres into the crime category, are published by Amber Quill Press, an association that began when her short historical, Dark Stranger , was a 2004 Amber Heat Wave winner. Two of her stories have placed in The Lories Best Published Novella contest. Her latest novellas, Woman in Black Lace , and Tie ’Em Up, Hold ’Em Down , have joined Dark Stranger and Silk Stealth in making the publisher’s best seller lists.

With over 100 foot races under her belt – including six marathons – she now limits her activities to fast walks and, after a serious accident on her bicycle, she no longer rides on the street. She and her husband enjoy golf, jazz, each other, their family and friends.

In addition to SinC/LA, she attends the Romance Writers of America’s California Orange County chapter and participates in Passionate Ink, From the Heart and Hearts Through History online.
